Snohomish Democrats - PDC Training to be offered in Edmonds on Monday May 15th

    The Public Disclosure Commission recently released new software, ORCA (On-line Reporting of Campaign Activity) that allows candidates and political committees to electronically file contribution and expenditure reports.  ORCA will eventually replace the WEDS software.
   
  PDC staff is offering free ORCA training in Edmonds on Monday, May 15 at 1:00 PM.  The training will be held at the Edmonds United Methodist Church.  Additional May training times and dates can be found at http://www.pdc.wa.gov/trainingschedule/Training.asp.
   
  Register for any PDC training e-mailing pdc at pdc.wa.gov or calling PDC staff toll-free at 1-877-601-2828.
    
  Electronic filing is required if:
    
   a candidate expects to spend $10,000 or more on his/her current campaign or if the candidate ran for the same office before that he/she is currently seeking and reached the $10,000 expenditure threshold in the prior campaign;   
   a continuing political committee expects to spend $10,000 this year or reached the $10,000 expenditure threshold in calendar year 2005; or   
   a ballot measure committee or other type of single-election year political committee expects to spend $10,000 on the current campaign.
