  Snohomish County Democrats to make endorsements for the November 2006 elections
   
  Information about the process
   
  An invitation is offered to candidates for partisan and nonpartisan office in the general election in November 2006 by the Snohomish County Democratic Central Committee. 
   
  The bylaws and endorsement rules call for an endorsement process that verifies a candidate is a Democrat supporting the general principles and values of the Snohomish County Democrats as found in its platform. 
   
  The process also considers the candidate's possibility of success in the election.
   
  The Executive Board, sitting as the endorsement committee, makes recommendations to the Central Committee. Then the Central Committee decides what endorsements to make.
   
  First time candidates need to complete the letter of application described in the Section 3.01 of the Endorsement Rules. An interview will be scheduled with a sub-committee as a part of this process.
   
  Candidates endorsed in their last election running for re-election wanting to renew their endorsement renewed will have a separate process this year. These people will complete a separate application. In special cases an interview may be scheduled.
    
     Application for endorsement for first time and returning candidates need to be submitted by Saturday, July 8, 2006. 
  
     Candidate interviews will be scheduled for Saturday, July 15, 2006. 
  
     The Executive Board will make its recommendations to the Central Committee on Tuesday, July 25, 2006.
  
     The Central Committee will make its endorsements on Saturday, August 5, 2006.

  Application for candidates seeking re-election
   
  Candidates seeking re-election that were endorsed in their last election need to complete an application letter with the following:
   
  (a) Request for endorsement.
   
  (b) Statement of support of the values found in the platform of the Snohomish County Democrats.
   
  (c) For residents of Snohomish County, pledge to participate meaningfully in the Party fundraising efforts of the Snohomish County Democrats Finance Committee.
   
  (d) If a candidate for partisan office, promise to support the Democratic winner of the primary.
   
  Please provide answers to the following questions as part of the application:
   
  (a) Who are the people on the campaign committee.
   
  (b) How much money has been raised to date, and campaign budget.
              
  (c) What endorsements have been received and sought.
   
  (d) How active support has been given to people endorsed by the Snohomish County Democratic Central Committee for judicial, political, board, commission, and other appointment.
   
  The proof of membership in the Democratic Party at the legislative district and county levels needs to be included with the application.
