Snohomish Democrats - Protecting Our Future

Dear Friends and Fellow Democrats,

  There are a LOT of changes taking place in the Democratic Party, from the DNC, to the reorganization of the Washington State Party. Change is taking place right here in our neighborhoods, too. Brand-new PCOs are signed on and fired up to organize their precincts. We’ve been working hard to create a new face and define a new direction for the County Party. And we are SO EXCITED that we just couldn’t wait to tell you about it!

  You probably already know about the Democrats’ important victories last November, including Dave Somers’ election to the County Council and Dave Gossett’s re-election to the County Council. Voters are realizing that we can and will continue to elect good Democratic leaders in Snohomish County.

  These victories have given us the momentum we needed to reenergize and reorganize
and that’s exactly what we’re doing.  Here’s how:

   Your County Party officers are hard at work dialing-for-dollars. So far they’ve raised over $6,000! If you haven’t already received a call from Mark, Laura, or Marko, be forewarned
they’re on the prowl and you just may be next!

   Councilmember Dave Gossett and Councilmember Dave Somers are on board with the Snohomish County Democrats as well. They are generously donating their time to make fundraising phone calls on behalf of the County Party. They know first hand how critical this organization is to electing Democrats in our area.

   Last but not least, we are officially launching a new website!  Please visit us right away at http://www.snohomishdemocrats.org and look around! Give us your feedback! 

  But in order to make all this happen—or continue to happen—we need your help. Our function as the Democratic Party in Snohomish County is to organize our neighborhoods and support our candidates. But this support costs money.  We are asking for your help in strengthening our organization and helping us support them.

  How do we support these candidates?  
  With direct financial support and indirect support which may include providing phone banks, organizing and executing fundraising events and/or sending out mailers on their behalf.  The Snohomish County Democrats as an organization keeps a strong working relationship with Democratic candidates and can therefore provide them the resources they most need.

  Why support the Snohomish County Democrats and not contribute directly to a particular candidate?  
  While you are not limited to making a contribution to one or the other, our organization is able to work with all of Snohomish County’s democratic candidates to determine what they need and how to maximize each dollar by coordinating efforts. For example, your contribution to the SCDCC may help pay for phone banks or joint mail-pieces that can be used for each democratic candidate’s campaign—not just for one.

  I hope you’ll join us in strengthening our party and working to elect progressive leaders, beginning in Snohomish County. Just think of what we could do if each Democrat in the county gave $1: we’d have over $70,000 to give directly to Democratic candidates in our county! Imagine what your pledge of $100 or $500 or $1,000 could do!
