On Saturday December 9th the elected Democrat Precinct Committee
Officers of Snohomish County met to elect their leadership for the next
biennium. Leadership of the Snohomish County Democrats Central Committee
organization for 2007 through 2008 will be:
Elected as chair, Mark Hintz and Laura Lewis elected Vice Chair. Neither
Hintz nor Lewis was opposed in this election. Both candidates were
elected by acclimation. Elected as State Committee Woman, Poppy Hanson
and as State Committee Man was Todd Nichols. Both Hanson and Nichols
have held their positions for the past eight years.
Due to health reasons 2nd Vice Chair Bob Chapman, did not seek a second
term. There were three candidates for 2nd Vice Chair, Curt Eidem of the
38th Legislative District, Chad Shue, also of the 38th Legislative
District and, Bill Phillips of the 39th Legislative District. Phillips
won the position handily.
Michele Pin sought the Recording Secretary for this next term. Pin had
been previously elected the Corresponding Secretary and she had no
opposition for her election.
Corresponding Secretary had two candidates. Former 39th Legislative
District Representative candidate, Pedro Gonzales squared off with Harry
George for the Corresponding Secretary position. Harry George of the
32nd Legislative District won the contest.
All newly elected members will be seated at the first executive board
meeting of the Snohomish County Democrats Central Committee meeting on
January 23, 2007.
