  As Senator Darlene Fairley is one of our Snohomish County elected Democrats, I'm taking the liberty of forwarding this important email regarding a piece of legislation being introduced regarding the Iraq war.  
   
  Please help to give our legislators the political backing that they need in this critical moment by contacting her!

I have attached a copy of the joint memorial and a press release to this e-mail for your reference. Please share it with the Washington State Democrats Executive Board and membership.  
   
  The joint memorial does the following:
   
  o       Calls on Congress and the President of the United States to not escalate involvement in Iraq or increase troop levels, 
  o       Requests that Congress pass legislation requiring the President to seek Congressional approval before spending taxpayer money on any escalation of the war.
   
  We are working to get a public hearing scheduled and appreciate the support of the Washington State Democrats. The joint memorial has been referred to the Senate Government Operations & Elections Committee, chaired by Senator Darlene Fairley. If your members are inclined to support the legislation, we'd ask that they contact Senator Fairley and request that she schedule the joint memorial for a public hearing.
