              Dear Voter, 
    For more than 22 years I have served the people of Snohomish County in the Clerk's Office.

  
              During my 22 years there I have worked in or supervised nearly every position within the office.  I began my career in the Clerk's Office as a file clerk and have risen through the ranks to senior manager in charge of the Domestic Violence and Family Law Facilitators as well as the Juvenile Clerk's Office
    The Clerk's Office primary responsibility is maintaining the records for Superior and Juvenile Court.  This task is larger than simply overseeing the processing of records: The legal system is a critical component of our democracy, and the foundation of our legal system is access to the courts. But access is meaningless unless it is effective.

    
As a 22-year veteran of the Snohomish County Clerk's Office and a graduate of the Institute of Court Management, I'm uniquely qualified to lead the office forward and protect the rights and access citizens deserve within the legal system.

    
As a fifth-generation Snohomish County resident, I have a vested interest in the services our County government provides to citizens, and I'm running because I believe so very strongly in the critical role the Clerk's Office plays in the legal system.

    
I am not a career politician - this is, in fact, my first run for political office.  However, I understand that an effective Clerk's Office begins with effective leadership.  In order to be an effective leader, you must understand what is required of the office.  I know what it is to work as a file clerk, I know what it is to clerk on a murder trial, and I know what it is to manage a 7-figure budget. As your next Clerk, I'll bring unparalleled experience and build on my proven track record of hands-on, effective leadership.
