  Growth key in partisan County Council race

    Two former state legislators are locked in a partisan battle for an open seat on the Snohomish County Council, and the race is about to heat up.

About $66,000 worth of TV and radio ads will hit the airwaves soon, opposing Democratic candidate Mike Cooper just as voters get their ballots.

  OUR EVERETT OFFICE PICKS UPTHE PACE:

      Help staff our office.  Caryl Trager, our office manager will be scheduling volunteers to help staff the office.  We are going from Tuesday-only office hours to full time until November 17th -- Help us make the leap!   Contact us at the office at 425-252-2305 or Caryl directly at 425-338-1576.  Some of our activities include answering phone, helping PCOs/Volunteers get walking lists and materials, photocopying, data entry and research.

    Drop in anytime this week to help stuff literature for our county-wide races into clear doorbell bags.  Pick up walking lists and approx 100 bags for a designated precinct – or your own!  Need to get these out right now!

   Phone banking opportunities to Get Out The Vote over the next two weeks.  We will be getting voter match back from the Auditors’ office and making calls to our strong Dems and leaning Dems to make sure that they have received their ballot and get in mailed in ASAP starting this Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 5:30pm to 8:30pm and Saturday.    Election Observers:  Caryl Trager will also be scheduling our observers for 2 or 3 hour shifts starting November 2 to November 16.  Call her for more information on this program.  

  CAMPAIGN UPDATE:  John Lovick for Sheriff

  I’ve had several volunteers out doorbelling in Bothell (Mays Pond and Martha Lake), Brier, Lynnwood, and Arlington.  Everyone did a fantastic job distributing information about my campaign and my plans for the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office. 

  Also, it was great being on Cop Talk last night.  I hope you had a chance to tune in.  

  Finally, this morning I opened up the Herald to find a wonderful article written by Diana Hefley.   It was a great article and I hope all of you have a chance to read it.  Editors note: Mentions the endorsement of the SCD -- a valuable endorsement in a race where John has broad-based support!

  Volunteers:

  I need volunteers to go doorbelling, sign waving, and sign posting! 
  Please join me for doorbelling and sign waving by calling my campaign at (425) 316-8586 to find out where I will be doorbelling and sign waving.  I go sign waving every morning starting at 6am and again at 4pm.   And, I am out doorbelling in between, so please come join me.

  Sign posting volunteers are still needed.  If you need signs, please call my campaign or come on by to pick some up at my home located at 2403 157th PL SE in Mill Creek (the Heatherstone division, I am the third house on the right).

  ·                                 Monday, October 22nd at 5:30pm:  I will be attending the Greater Everett BPW (Business and Professional Women) Meet the Candidates Night at Shawn O'Donnell's (downstairs).   ·                                 Tuesday, October 23, 4 PM: Snohomish County Sheriff's Office Annual Awards Ceremony at Gold Creek Community Church, 4326 148th St. SE in Mill Creek. 

  ·                                 Friday, October 26th at 4pm:  Join me for Timberfest in Darrington.  If you are a supporter living in the Darrington area, please join me in the parade at 5pm (we will line up at 4pm).   I will march in the parade and visit the carnival festivities at the elementary school.

  ·                                 Sunday, October 28th from 6-8:30pm:  I will be helping with traffic control during the Gold Creek Community Church's "Trunk or Treat" event.
