Getting Democrats in your precinct to the WA State Precinct Caucuses on February 9th, 2008!

SNOHOMISH COUNTY DEMOCRATS
   
  The WA State Democratic Precinct Caucuses will be held on Saturday, February 9th, 2008 at 1:00pm at various locations throughout the county.  Precinct Caucuses are organized and convened by the Legislative Districts.   The WA State Democrats website also has a Caucus Finder -- if your caucus information is not listed, call the Caucus Hotline at (206) 583-4345 or e-mail grassroots at wa-democrats.org.
   
  PCOs and Volunteers are encouraged to make calls to voters in your own precinct to inform them of your caucus location and encourage them to come help us to select our next "leader of the free world."   
   
  Local contacts for the Democratic Presidential campaigns are listed on our website. 
   
  Please contact your own LD chair or Mark Hintz, our chair at 425-422-5970 if you need help obtaining this information.  Our Bulk Mail permit is available for our PCOs for this purpose as well.  Please make arrangements with Michele Pin, Recording Secretary at our office at  425-252-2305.  Cost is .20 cents per letter.
   
  Volunteers are encouraged to make arrangements to help cover office hours this busy Caucus Season.  Office Hours are 10:00am to 4:00pm weekdays.  Also open WEDNESDAY evenings 4:00pm to 7:00pm.  These office hours can be expanded as volunteers are available to cover -- call 425-252-2305 to schedule yourself in!  Directions and a map are on our homepage.
   
  Primary Ballots will be in the mail on January 30th & 31st.  We encourage everyone to both participate in the Precinct Caucuses and to mail in your ballot for this Presidential Preference Primary.  For votes to be valid for the presidential primary, the voter must select a party and sign the oath on the outside of the purple return envelope.  Political parties will have a period of 60 days to request this information from the county auditors offices.  This information will be important to our organizing efforts for the 2008 election.
   
  For the Democratic Party, the national delegates will only come from the Caucus process for selecting our nominee.  For more information on this delegate selection process see our website. www.snohomishdemocrats.org.
