This is the first issue for this 2008 campaign season! Look for kick-off events and fundraisers for our Legislative Districts. See below for details on how to publicize your event to 2500+ Democrats in Snohomish County!

Spring Fling
Saturday, May 3rd from 5 to 8 pm
This is our biggest grassroots fundraiser of the year that you will not want to miss!! Bring your friends, neighbors, family and future 44th LD members. Silent Auction Donations are welcome too!

Tickets are available at the door but please RSVP if possible:
$20 each suggested donation ($15 each for paid 44th LD Members, CD/State Delegates and Seniors over 62 & Students)

PS --please ask a favorite vendor, shop, or service provider to donate an item, or feel free to donate a new or handcrafted item yourself. Some suggested items include gift baskets, gift certificates for products or services or dinners out, homemade or handcrafted items, a weekend at a cabin, inn or hotel, and so on. Lunches, fishing or kayaking with a favorite elected official are always great items too!

Jim Johanson is running for a seat on the Superior Court bench this fall. Were writing today to encourage you to join with us and wish Jim well as he kicks off his campaign for this important position. An invitation to his "kick-off" reception has been attached to this email.
Jim, as many of you know, has more than two decades working in both Civil and criminal law. Hes a thoughtful and well qualified lawyer who will be an outstanding addition to the Snohomish County Superior Court bench.

House Candidate Tim Knue to Host Community Forum
Tim Knue, a candidate for State House of Representative in District 10, will hold a community forum and informal rally at the Farmhouse Restaurant in Mount Vernon on Saturday, May 3.
Knue, a lifelong resident of the area, is an award-winning high school teacher, agricultural leader and youth mentor. Hes taking his campaign theme of Listen, Learn and Lead directly to local residents. The forum is an opportunity to learn about him and his campaign.
Government works best when we elect leaders who listen to our priorities, learn the issues, and lead by example. My approach in this campaign and as a legislator will be to listen to the people, learn from history and from their input, make thoughtful decisions, and then lead with diligence and confidence, said Knue.
If elected, Knue pledges to work for better funding of basic education, fight to limit taxes, invest in job training and make health care affordable and make sure new growth reflects the character of our communities.

Also, due to the number of these requests, these events are posted in Newsletter Format as received by members of the committee. Email announcements are generally posted Mondays and Thursdays to limit the frequency of posting to our list.
